Vice President Joe Biden Endorses Nicole Galloway, Citing Her Record As State Auditor and Commitment to Expanding Access to Healthcare

September 14, 2020

Columbia, Mo. — Today, Vice President Joe Biden endorsed State Auditor Nicole Galloway for Governor, citing her record of uncovering millions in government waste, fraud, and abuse and her commitment to expanding access to health care, improving public schools, and creating an economy that works for everyone.

“State Auditor Nicole Galloway is a proven champion for  Missouri’s working families — crossing the aisle to deliver results. As Auditor, she worked to bring transparency to state government and hold politicians accountable to the people, uncovering millions of dollars in waste and fraudulent spending. I am proud to endorse Nicole for Governor, and know she will continue to fight for access to affordable, quality health care, improving public schools, and bringing good-paying jobs to the state,” said Vice President Joe Biden.

“Vice President Joe Biden was a key part of the team that expanded healthcare to millions of Americans and brought our country back the last time we were on the brink of an economic disaster. I can’t think of a leader who is better suited for this moment and I am honored to have his support in this race,” said State Auditor Nicole Galloway. “Next year, we’ll work together to lower prescription drug costs,  expand access to healthcare, and put Missouri back on the path to economic recovery.”

Vice President Joe Biden’s endorsement is just the latest example of growing momentum for the Galloway For Missouri campaign. While Governor Parson refuses to take action to contain COVID-19, Auditor Galloway has laid out substantive plans to address the pandemicexpand access to affordable, quality care, and lower health care costs for Missouri’s working families

That message is resonating with Missourians. Powered by grassroots donations, Auditor Galloway has twice outraised Governor Parson by a 2:1 margin — allowing her to become the first campaign to air an ad on television. And since March, Inside Elections, The Cook Political Report, U.S. News and World ReportDaily Kos and Sabato’s Crystal Ball have all rated the Missouri gubernatorial race as more competitive and downgraded Governor Parson’s election chances.
