Galloway for Governor Launches New Ad Campaign Contrasting Parson’s Failure to Take Responsibility with Republican and Democratic Governors

July 3, 2020

Columbia, Mo. — Today, Nicole Galloway for Missouri launched a new digital ad campaign holding Governor Parson accountable for refusing to take responsibility amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The new ad, “Outlier” contrasts Governor Parson’s highly criticized refusal to take responsibility for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic with footage of Republican and Democratic governors who have stood up amidst this crisis and led their states.

The ad features footage of a bipartisan group of governors — including Larry Hogan (MD), Mike Dewine (OH), Steve Sisolak (NV), Gavin Newsom (CA), and Andrew Cuomo (NY) — doing what Governor Parson won’t: take responsibility during the crisis.

“While Republican and Democratic governors across the country have owned their actions and led their states through the pandemic, Governor Mike Parson has passed the buck,” said Galloway f or Governor spokesperson Eric Slusher. “Amidst a deadly pandemic and the worst economic crisis in a decade, the governor has been too busy defending his special interest donors than fighting for Missourians’ jobs and healthcare. When Missouri needed him most, Governor Parson refused to step up.”

During his daily briefing last week, Governor Parson  compared COVID-19 to the flu and car crashes and said he didn’t “feel guilty” about his handling of the pandemic. COVID-19 has killed more than 1,000 Missourians and left hundreds of thousands out of work.
