Auditor Nicole Galloway Announces She Will Participate in a Gubernatorial Debate Hosted by Nine Network, St. Louis Public Radio, The St. Louis American, and KSDK

September 15, 2020

Columbia, Mo. — Today, Auditor Nicole Galloway announced that she will participate in an hour-long  gubernatorial debate hosted by Nine Network, St. Louis Public Radio, The St. Louis American, and 5 On Your Side (KSDK) in St. Louis. The debate will take place in Nine Network’s St. Louis studio during the week of October 26.

“From the St. Louis County Executive debate to the McCaskill-Hawley debate in 2018, Nine Network and their partners have a reputation for putting together fair and substantive debates. Auditor Galloway believes it’s critical for Missouri voters to hear from both candidates about how they will solve the key challenges facing Missouri’s working families. Governor Parson should stop dodging the voters and accept this invitation to defend his record and finally explain his plans to expand health care and tackle COVID-19,” said Galloway For Missouri campaign manager Chris Sloan.

The proposed debate would  be simulcast on all three stations, and on NPR, Nine Network, and NBC stations across the state. Nine Network — in partnership with St. Louis Public Radio and 5 On Your Side — hosted a debate in the U.S. Senate race between Josh Hawley and Claire McCaskill. They also hosted the St. Louis County Executive Democratic primary debate — one of the most high-profile debates in Missouri to be held during COVID-19.

Auditor Galloway will join Governor Mike Parson for the first gubernatorial debate hosted by the Missouri Press Association on September 25 in Columbia. She has called for a total of four gubernatorial debates that will take place across the state this fall.
